Where are you making the change to Chinese? Most databases only support ASCI character set.

Delete the var name, save the project, then recreate it.

Hi Jizhe

thanks commis ... been away for a while and busy busy busy ... anyway im back now ...

Yes DBQWIKSITE can work using Chinese input ....

I have done it many many times ... there are a couple of bits you need to do though.

The way I do it is a bit long winded BUT it works everytime with no problems ....

1: create the whole site in English using English varibles.
2: After generation open all the pages in say dreamwever and using FIND AND REPLACE change all the charsets to this

Code:
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=gb2312">

Now Chinese caratctors will display correctly,

The only other problem i find and to be honest I have not bothered to figure out why is when you use a SINGLE LINE TEXT input FIELD it will not take chinese caractors. So I always change this to a multi line field and everything is fine.

I have played with this a lot and this is the best way to get it to work easily. You can change the Charset in DBQWIK but I have always found it a little problematic.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Geno

PS: you DO NOT need to do anything special with a MYSQL database if you do thinsg this way. i have never done it with MSSQL or ACCESS.

too kewl -- I enjoyed my time in China -- havent make it to the UK yet, unless you consider Australia to still be part ;-)
Can never be certain from names since a lot of folks use anglicized names in forums
