Post (Gerald, if I may) Preventing spam on dbQwisite forums
Hi Gerald

dbQwiksite is a program I love, and I hate to see your forums are spammed as they were today or have been in the past. (Now removed, thanks!) :) I manage many forums and I know it's not an easy task to fight spambots. (Almost sure the spam you got came from spambots and not from a spam farm using real people.)

I understand you can't spend a lot of time on such issues, so, if I may, and just in the case you couldn't see that already, here are some information about phpBB3 and relatively user-friendly anti-spam, so you won't scare customers.

If you have already seen the info below, please disregard this post and accept my apologies.

Eagerly waiting for dbQwiksite version 6! Keep on the good work. :D

There have been few attempts to put SPAM and PORN on this forum.

Three (3) registered user have been banned and their posted content deleted shortly after posting. Judging from the type of posted content it is most likely one and the same person.

thanks I'll pass on to my team. You are right. We tend to get our heads burried in the software (dbQwikSite) and forums etc go neglected.

Also could you not think about replacing the name phpbb3 in the url?

and also stop user's from being able to post in Announcements at lest.

Also too, phpBB 3.0.6 will soon be released (Release Candidate 4 ATM so almost done) and it allows you to install as many various CAPTCHA modules as you want and switch from one to the other in a few clicks in the Administrator panel.

Also you can use CAPTCHA in more places than before.

And, icing on the cake, some very nice customizable CAPTCHA plugins have been released for phpBB 3.0.6 RC (and will be for Gold version)

With all that we can hopefully make spammers' life a hell.
